Warden Jean K Jones, Jr.
Warden Jean K. Jones Jr., killed near McAvoy Yacht Harbor in Pittsburg, Contra Costa Co. on May 14, 1979. He was 31 years old. From the Martinez News Gazette, May 15, 1979: Warden Jones was on foot patrol near the harbor where he had received reports of hunting violations. After being wounded twice in the leg by shots from fired from a .22 caliber firearm, he was able to return vehicle and radio for help. He was transported to hospital where he died from loss of blood. One of the shots had severed an artery. Lawrence Raymond Hustin, age 18 was subsequently arrested for the crime.] |
